Meet the Founder

Paul Speltz founded Anticables after years of hands-on experimentation with cable design, working to strip away materials that added distortion rather than clarity to the signal. That process led him to solid-core conductors and minimal insulation, the same construction principle Anticables uses today. It earned the company a loyal following among audiophiles who could hear the difference.

Continuing the Legacy

Anticables is now owned and operated by Clayton Shaw, a loudspeaker design engineer with over 50 years of experience and a pioneer of dipole, open-baffle speaker design. Clayton founded Emerald Physics, Spatial Audio Lab, and Clayton Shaw Acoustic Lab, and shared demo rooms with Paul for more than a decade, earning multiple Best-in-Show awards along the way. The cables are still built the way Paul designed them: hand-terminated, solid-core, minimal insulation, with no shortcuts taken on lower-tier products.

A Philosophy of Simplicity

Anticables uses solid-core conductors instead of stranded wire, and minimal insulation instead of heavy dielectric, on the premise that fewer materials between source and speaker means less signal degradation. The result is a cable designed to get out of the way rather than shape the sound.
